Introduction to Lights, Camera, Angry
Welcome to the new Substack by the most talkative person at the "loud table"
Back in 2023, I was asked by Producer Chris Moore (Good Will Hunting, the American Pie franchise, Manchester By The Sea) to create, produce and co-host a podcast with him where we could discuss the industry, films, and tell insider stories. Despite Chris not wanting his name in the title, Katie Marpe (our other co-host) and I thought that the title One Moore Hollywood Podcast made the most sense. It fell in line with our tongue-in-cheek joke that it was yet ANOTHER Hollywood podcast that no one asked for and, of course, it was just a little bit defiant of our instructions. A real “trademark” of mine.
So we launched the podcast in July of 2023. It performed well, we heard some great things from listeners and it was even nominated for a Webby Award in early 2024. Very exciting stuff for a brand new podcast! Well, after doing the podcast for a year, it was decided that it was time to end it. I was so bummed. Honestly, it just took a lot of time away from developing feature films and projects we were actively working to get greenlit. Still… I was saddened by it going away. I mean where else could I talk about movies and voice my many, many thoughts on popular films, recent releases, and even the triumphs and failures of our industry with others as part of my job?!
Ya see, I grew up around the entertainment industry to some degree. My mother, Eileen De Nobile, was a Talent Manager for young actors in film, TV and theater. Some of her clients were Christina Ricci (Casper, Addams Family, etc…), Renoly Santiago (Dangerous Minds, Hackers), Danny Tamberelli (The Adventures of Pete & Pete, All That), Brandon Victor Dixon (Hamilton, Power) and many others. My Mother always wanted me to experience the industry through her hard work and dedication. I went to film premieres, wrap parties and all sorts of screenings growing up. Needless to say, I fell in love with entertainment and it led me to where I am today.
Now after over 20 years in the industry, with a background in writing, editing, producing, and drinking 12 cups of coffee a day, I’ve decided it’s time to write about my experiences. So buckle up for some on-set production tales, honest reviews of feature films, and hot takes on big entertainment stories! Subscribe to the Lights, Camera, Angry Substack and check it out!
